I was reading my BoS yesterday and saw this ritual. It's a gypsy ritual to create a talisman. I remember asking a gypsy witch for a talisman for my friend who thought she had been hexed by a gypsy woman and this is what the witch gave me.

This ritual is to create a talisman to protect yourself against influences and spirits. Find a rusty iron nail (the older, the better). You also need a small flat stone and an iron hammer. During the New moon in a dark night put the nail on the stone. Hit the nail with the hammer 3 times, each time saying:
"Clavus ferreus
Malleus ferreus
Ferreum ferreus
Ferreum nobilis"

Make 3 scratches on the stone with the nail. Then take the stone and bury it far away from your home. You must remain silent while you go back to your home and not turn around. The nail is to be kept in your house where no one will see or touch it.
A rough translation of the chant :
"The hard
iron Hammer.
As iron hard
As iron noble "

Gypsy magick is something very fascinating to me. Being nomads, gypsies gathered different practices during their travels. The gypsy witches are all quite secretive about their magick and no matter how many questions I ask the ones I know, they answer with only few words, driving me insane with curiosity Anyway, I hope this is helpful.
