Possible taboo question.

Postby Zale » Fri Nov 01, 2013 8:46 am

In reference to my vision /poem midnight dream... Is it normal for diety or other spirits to be sexual with you? Or is that a figment of our imagination or hidden wants and desires coming to play? I feel weird asking this question because sex is a sacred thing to me but as I say the only dumb question is the one not asked.

Ok i see there have been a few views but no replies. Let me be the first to say I am not coming from a perverted state of mind. I am asking simply because this vision seemed as though I was really there. I was able to use all 5 senses. That and I believe someone else also wrote a poem about wind flirting with this person. coming from a Christian background. If one were to have a dream of being immoral with the virgin marry it would be considered blasphemy. Is it much like that if you are dealing with the astral plane or visions and dreams. That is where I was coming from that question.

I viewed, but didn't say anything, not because I thought you were being perverted, but because I honestly don't know the answer sorry. Would be interesting to know though.

Sorry, I didn't say anything at first because I wanted to see what other folks would say first (especially since I'm not a polytheist). My instinct? Read a lot of mythology. There are plenty of myths from various cultures in which deities had sexual relations with each other and humans (Zeus in particular comes to mind - and I'll add that many of his relationships were quite far from sacred, and many of them were rapes - sex isn't always holy). Then I'd say, reflect a lot on what myths mean to you. For example, do myths represent real, literal tales about how deities once related to mortals? Then that might be a new light from which to view your own experience. Alternately, if you consider myths to be largely metaphorical ways to explore the inner self, then you might be onto something about exploring your hidden wants and desires, which are not necessarily taboo at all.

The truth is, it could be either option or both combined. I've known people who feel they were "god's wives" (basically, they were visited on occasion in more intimate matters). I've known people who claimed they were the lover of a deity, but they came across as being highly immature and having their head stuck in a teen fiction storyline.

Supernatural fornication with mortal partners is not unknown in any lore I have ever come across. The hard question is going to be... what is it to you? How would you interpret it? What feels like the truth to you and can you differentiate the truth from what you would prefer the truth to be?

Zale, sometimes I wonder if a deity causes carnal lust, because it can hit you from out of the clear blue sky. :D suddenly you are thinking...I need to find me an outlet!
As for having actual sex...eh, hasn't happened to me.

Hi Zale, just saw this thread of yours dear. I will be quick on my reply since I am sitting in my car outside my workplace, my day shift is about to start lol.

What you experienced many have been through as well, be it in today's world or back as far as what only myths and legends can tell of. This is nothing to feel embarrassed or ashamed of dear. All of us have been through passionate dreams(softly put), even I have and just like you I have written poetry about it dear. Now the question as well as a partial answer are the following options; was this a past life memory, was it a desire within longing to live its life, or perhaps a visitation of your twin flame/soul mate. Desires often bring us desirable dreams that are impossible to find in real life. But yes supernatural phenomenon may occur even when it comes to desires and passion. I will put up some of my poem's regarding similar issues dear.

Have courage dear and don't feel awkward about your dream, they are pretty much more or less normal dear... ;)

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I thank you all for your thoughts and imput. It has really helped me. As far as being ashamed. I will never be ashamed about sex. It is an awesome and beautiful aspect of life and I hold it in high regard. Just needed to know what is kosher. Because I know with astral journeying there are courtesys that need to be met by ourselves as well as those in other worlds and times. And quite honestly I did not want to bring about karma on myself in a negative way.

Try researching Succubus and Incubus. They are supposedly having sex with people. I haven't read your poem, but is it possible that you evoked one with it? Every culture has their spirits or demons who seduce people. In Greece, even gods did that. But I can't speak from personal experience.

I just saw this thread this evening. I think each of us experiences our relationship with a deity exactly the way we're meant to. I hadn't thought of a sexual aspect, but why wouldn't that happen? I experience a lot of my relationship with Bast, yhrough visits in times of need. With a houseful of rescue kitties, it's a natural facet of the relationship. It sounds like your experience surprised you, but surprises can be fun. Go for it!
