Hi, I'm new to rune casting and was wondering why my runes are turning up so negitive? I just made them maybe a week ago out of rocks from my back yard and red marker. I think it might be because i am keeping them in a bag that had come in contact with negative energy quite a few times. I have never cleansed anything or done any rituals or spells so if you have any ideas on how i could cleanse them i would be thankful! ok i guess thats all for now! Thanks! -Willow

Burn sage. The smoke will cleanse them.

Is it actually the smoke or your energy? I just posted a question on how to cleanse them with only insence and they said that it is actually your energy that cleanses them. -Willow

I don't have any knowledge of heathens cleansing runes.

I do think runes are meant to be carved, in this way you make them alive. It's also best to add a drop of your blood to the red stain so that your orlog is mixed in with the runes and to have the runes made from wood. There's some thought that runes made from stone are death runes, but I'm not sure if that's because runestones were commemorative markers for the dead- though sometimes also for the living or just as road markers.

Maybe you just use an interpretation book which emphasizes the negative aspects?
