I'm scared to even look at a spell!

Postby Ember Nightwolf » Tue Nov 30, 2010 4:57 pm

About seven or eight months ago, I created my own spell for getting rid of anger, but it completely backfired. Simply writing and concentrating on the spell pulled it into effectiveness - but instead of just getting rid of anger, it turned it into tears of despair. it took months to break, and now I'm scared to even look at a spell. Does anyone have any advice, or spells that they have already used for anxiety or something? This would be really helpful and much appreciated.
Thanks, Blessed be
EM

What turned into tears of despair? What should this mean? And how much anger did you tried to get rid off? More like "Dammit, I hate it when people take the last seat and I had to stand" or was it more like lifelong repressed anger all bottled up?

I think if you've already used a spell and it backfired like this, you probably shouldn't do any spells cause there are some serious issues in yourself that will always make it worse. Your subconciouss does the magic or provides the messages and if there is something bottled up it will deliver the wrong message, you know? You can use the best spell, if you sabotage yourself it will always end in tears.

I would recommend some Shadowworktechnics, like trance, meditation, dreamwork, autogen training and the like, all focused on what's inside yourself and how yu can heal this.

Some people call anger a gateway emotion. Meaning, that anger usually masks either fear or grief. It sounds as though you just pealed back a layer.

It sounds like the spell worked, in my opinion. Did you feel relief afterward? Like less angry?

It might have been the fact you were angry at the time of casting that made your spell go a bit funny, strong emotions tend to cause our focus to waver. I always medititate before casting a spell and I still find that sometimes my mind's on other things if I'm in a mood or something :(
I dunno if you're looking for something specifically related to anxiety before spellwork but if you're talking generally I reccomend valerian root tea. It tastes DISGUSTING but works a charm lol.

thank you so much for your help - I will try Valerian tea (sweetened with honey) have a look at these shadow techniques. I'll try (emphasis on try) to meditate before my spell - thank you for that suggestion. It was interesting to hear that it may have been something I've bottled up, you may actually be right. I'm really grateful for this, its really helped, so thank you. blessed be, Ember

You can always ask me about working with your shadow. It seems there is not much easy literature on this, since it's not popular and fluffy and stuff. It's really hard work, but really intense and important for people with hidden issues.

My 2 cents, when you need to rid yourself of anger, by casting a a spell nonetheless, I would like to reccommend love. Emanate pure true unadultered love, unwavering unyeilding, so total soul love that NOTHING can stop it. Accept situations for what they are, they is what they is,surround them, with love, nothing but love.

You might be surprised at end result. . . . . . Dont need a spell for this one, just open your heart to all possibilities

Previous poster(s) right. Meditate, seriously. When the student is ready the master will appear. And what a moment that will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll remember the day and celebrate it year after year.

I had great success with getting rid of anger with sending the anger back. That's much easier than fill yourself up with love when you are angry. I even think it's unhealthy to bottle the feeling of anger with just put a lot of love on top. YOu can do this, if you've learned (for proabably many years) to transform those feelings. But that's definitely no stuff for newbies. Even if they think they got it right, they just bottle up, deny theirselves and will explode one day.

Traumwadlerin, perhaps it would be of benefit to all the members here to share your perspectives and instructions on shadow work techniques. I would even suggest this being posted in witchcraft school. Honestly, between shadow work and cognitive work many of the issues people seek to rid themselves of via magic will be resolved.

Hm, I could do that, but my English really isn't very good. So I would definately need someone who translates my text in proper English.

From what I read of your post they are often times more coherent than native English speakers. I'd definitely be willing to clarify wherever I can. Everything I've down around shadow stuff is extremely experiential. I am wondering if it can be introduced without having a guide and a support group present as I did.

Thanks. I'm gonna write one in the next few days. It can be introduced and worked without a guide or a group, but that's a lot more difficult and scary and probably not everyone can do that.

Cool. Thanks for that. I'll be busy over the next couple of days but will set an intention to come back and take a look.
