I need a spell to break a bond with someone

I had a very long, painful and complex relationship with someone that lasted over a year. We both felt that we "couldn't stay away" no matter how hard we tried- even after it was clear things weren't working out.

I had wished very hard for things to work between us, for us to fall in love, etc... I did everything I could to try to make it so (no, I didn't cast a "love spell"). After spending so much mental energy on the relationship, it started to consume me, and now after a year of no contact and another (happy) relationship, I can't seem to break the psychic bond. I still dream of him constantly, can't seem to get him out of my head etc.

And spells to rid myself of this??

Hi Victoria,

I am going to tackle this with both magical and mortal advice. The mortal advice I would give is that when someone is in your life and connected to you it is difficult to get that connection to go away. I have someone that I have a connection with and have had one for over 8 years. I dream of him from time to time but know that it is not going to happen. In your case, you know it is over. I would try and talking to your current partner if that is an option. Open communication is the best in any relationship.

Now, for the magical part of my advice. This little spell might work to help purge him of at least your dreams.

He/She holds my spirit from time gone by
No longer in my arms you lye
Gods of old release my mind
release my heart, my soul unbind.
No longer is (person's name) in my life
so I ask the Gods to end this strife.

My spells do not usually require moon phases. In this case if you like to use moon phases, I would use a new moon as it is a new beginning. You are more than welcome to put this in your BOS. I would be honored! I truely hope this helps you out. If you are able to talk to your current partner as well I think it will be a big benefit as well. How is your partner with your practice of the craft? If they are supportive maybe working the spell with them will help. Just a thought as we all need support.

My boyfriend doesn't know about my craft, and I have a feeling he would accept me, but secretly think me a bit silly.
He's a very practical, rational person, you know, a math and sciences guy.

But I have spoken to him about the situation- for the sake of our relationship, because I believe honesty is key. I told him I can't seem to rid myself of these feelings, but I am no longer looking for the relationship to come about, and that I just want to be rid of the situation once and for all, as it was a bad business. He is understandably hurt, but seems to be dealing with it pretty well. He loves me and understands that I can't control it.
