Paganism: An introduction to Earth-Centered Religion by Joyce & River Higginbotham. After that, lots of other pagan/wiccan related goodness. I probably have like 20 books I've read before scattered all about too. :?

That's interesting looking. I'm a sucker for old books on witchcraft and folklore. Can you tell me who the author is?

How are you finding the Faery book by Alexander? I've been eyeing that one, and her mermaid book, for awhile now.

As for fictional books on the Fae, I've recently fallen in love with Holly Black's Trilogy Tithe, Valiant and Ironside.

So far, it's interesting and informative. I like how it pulls information from all over the world vice sticking with Ireland. I'm not a fan of it calling EVERYTHING fae, like djinn and succubus. It kind of irks me the impression it gives me of classifying any supernatural creature as fae. I'll have to keep reading to give a more informative review. It's a good book to read for someone starting to delve into faerie lore and have an idea what they're all about.

I'll have to check out that series! It certainly has my attention now. I like the covers. I usually try to stick to stories where the protagonist is older than eighteen but I like the court struggle aspect described in the summary. I read a lot of books so it's very likely I'll pick this up this week. Lol

I look forward to that "more informative review." :) You can start a new thread on it in the book reviews section whenever you're ready (I'm trying to make book reviews a thing so we can set up something of a database for members to refer to if they're looking for new reading material).

I think it was actually the focus on the Seelie/Unseelie courts and the "alien" behavior of the Fae being explained a bit in the books that really drew my attention to them. Black has a really "grungy" way of writing that I like too. They're quick reads, took me about 4-6 hours each.

Awesome! I'll definitely consider posting my review up. I usually stick with Goodreads when it comes to posting things like that. I think this will be a nice place to post reviews as well.

I love it already. Thank you very much for the recommendation!

I just finished Volume 3 of Andrea Perron's "House of Darkness, House of Light" trilogy (which had quite a bit about witchcraft and paganism, surprisingly) and now I'm re-working my way through "Northern Tradition for the Solitary Practitioner by Galina Krasskova.
