I was born in a Hindu family and I am from India. I got interested in Wicca after reading particularly "Brida" and the Witch of Portobello by Paulo Coelho. This tradition of the sun and the moon that he was talking about in his books was so appealing. It felt right but at the same time I was afraid to go any further. But I just crossed my limits anyway. I downloaded my first book on Wicca and yes, I liked what I read. Right now I am really happy that I did find this path . Right now I am learning and doing some spell work too.. trying to commune with nature.. and found this incredible forum with so many cool people with so much of knowledge..I feel like I am a toddler ..taking my first few steps but I am happy..

For me i had always been into witch craft and the supernatural even as a child. Then when i was 12 i went to a catholic secondary school and i got one of those charmed novels out of the library and found out about wicca. Researched it and found i agreed with it on alot of levels. However it wasn't until around may/june this year that i decided to convert

Fascinating reading everyone's stories.

I came to Wicca 2 years ago after a long period (about 10yrs) as a hardcore atheist. Even in my atheist years I felt a connection to 'something more than this' but couldn't relate to the Christianity I was raised in. Most religions left me cold. I became very cynical but tried not to think about the bleaker aspects of my atheistic worldview. However, following a period of ill-health I began to research things like the possibility of 'god', an afterlife, a soul. I eventually came to believe in all those things but didn't have a religion that made sense to me.

I came across Wicca via Scott Cunningham's work & I was hooked. This was exactly what I had been searching for my whole life.

I love being Wiccan. Wouldn't trade it for the world :flyingwitch:

After many years, I'd have to say I'm not Wiccan, although I tried to be. My religion is separate from my Craft practice. To me the Craft is a science to be used for the benefit of our lives and coexisting in a positive way with our planet.
