I understand you completely Sakura. As I said in my previous post, you may read and study the Norse mythos and cultures with the help of Loki.I've explained in another thread, but I don't read fully into the mythology surrounding Him (or anyone really) unless He gives me a sign to look into it. I do have a basic idea about Norse mythology, though. I understand many people use this and you as well, as their way of learning and advancing, but I'm in a firm belief that I want to learn it for myself from Him, not read what has been written down by others (myths or otherwise). Unless He tells me otherwise, of course. So far, however, He's been very supportive in this. While it is what the Norse did believe (the myths, that is), it could be true, but it also might not be. (: This is just my personal feelings and beliefs, of course. Haha. I want to learn from Him. He will guide me and show me what to read, as he has been. I have signs that I am given when looking at the correct piece of information (such as the number 13 shows up somewhere in there) and if I'm on the wrong track, He lets me know. It's just a belief I'm very firm with. I don't want my mind being swayed one way or another, if I have prior knowledge to something because I do work with Psychology and I'm very familiar with how the mind works sometimes. Hopefully you can understand and if not, respect it. (:
I've had positive situations come from this as well, such as my first meeting with him. I knew nothing about the Wells or that Odin threw his eye into one of them and learned about them from my experience with Loki. He knows I can't study for too long, so He gives everything to me gradually, which is also another reason why I feel more comfortable doing it this way. (: Once again, I hope that makes sense.
I'm not saying to believe all what you're going to read in lores, mythos and such as first, this too isn't my point of view and second we all know they were just written by man. Man's truth might not be absolute, but Deities' Truth is, I believe. I wasn't suggesting anything about the veracity of the mythos and lores; I suggest to read and study some books regarding some paths that worship Loki including Asatru, Northern Tradition Paganism and specifically Rökkatru (those who follow the underworld Deities of Norse pantheon which includes of course, Loki, Sigyn, Jormundgand, and some of Their kins), to get a sense of your God and His origin and nature.
My perception of my Deities aren't also based entirely on what the book says. Because in my experience, it just gives me expectations and hopes and it can truly limit the experience with my Deities. When I first started contacting my Deities in a way that made sense for me, I went in with the attitude that I was just going to listen and observe. From that perspective, whatever came up was something I knew wasn't a product of my imagination; I wasn't creating anything or making anything happen; it was opening to me.
Actually, I perceive some of my Deities differently and not according to what the Book of myths described Them. Nevertheless, in these differences, I believe They are with me more than ever. It's hard to write, because there's so much contradiction, but even though, Their unique "Divine force" (which the myths confirmed) could still be seen in my magick and spiritual works.
We can't perceive Them only when we don't know how to listen. If we're waiting for something like the folklores and mythologies told about our Gods and Goddesses, that's not gonna happen.
Thank you! It's just so lovely, sitting out on the front porch, watching neighborhood life.Oh, that's very interesting! (: and wonderful! I'm happy for you both. (: As I said, mine are Hawks and any type of black bird. Usually, they come in pairs (the black birds, that is). I know of Hugin and Munin, and I know they were Raven's, but the fact that I keep seeing pairs of Black Birds makes me wonder if there's a correlation there somewhere. Haha.
Please keep us posted with your new understandings!
