Cards affected by my emotions?

I'm still in the process of painting my deck, so I'm still using that deck I made with torn notebook paper, in case you were wondering, but something weird happened last time I did my tarots, and I don't know if it was because I was actually right, or if I attracted the cards I drew to me.

I was doing a spread that a lady on this forum mentioned. It was a 3-card spread that will reveal a person's personality to you. The first card was the True Character of the person, the second was what they'd Show the world, and the third cart would be what they Hide from the world. Anyway, I was doing this spread for a person whom I've known for a long time and have spoken to, but wasn't really friends with. I was thinking of what cards I'd possibly draw for him, and I said to myself, "I bet his true character card will be the Magi cuz he's real smart and logical.. or maybe Adjustment, he's also kind of a rebel so maybe the second would be the Wheel or well.. no, it wouldn't be the Emperor.. hmm.." I was just talking to myself wondering what I would get and then the card "The Lovers" popped into my mind. I was thinking about all of that as I was setting up to do the reading; thinking about his personality and guessing what I might draw for him.

I drew all the chards faced-down then flipped them over after I drew the three. The first card was the Magi! The second card turned out the be the Wheel of Fortune, and the third card turned out to be The Lovers!! (I'm only using the major arcane). I was shocked that I had guessed that whole reading.

Now I'm trying to decide why that happened. Did I attract the cards to me by thinking about them before doing the reading, did the card manage to send some kind of message to me, or did I have a future-sight? Is this why you're supposed to 'empty your mind' before you do a reading? Does this make my reading inaccurate? From knowing the person for such a long time, I would say that the cards were quite accurate.

Do any of you tarot-readers predict your readings? Is it a good thing or a bad thing to draw the cards that you were thinking about?

i've been waiting to see if anyone else had this happen to them. i think it's a combination of things. one, your very perceptive and your cards are familiar with you. two, i may just be rephrasing what i've already said, but i think that because we (the gifted, the sensitive *chuckle*) already can see what the outcome is from what bits of details we have, the cards just echo what we already know. i tend to believe that when this happens that what we are seeing is accurate. although i have to say though, when i have asked about things i have no particular idea as to outcome, i've had dead-on accuracy. one thing, really be sure about what you want to know. but, i'm going to sound like i'm contradicting myself here, some things are subject to change and aren't necessarily written in blood. does all this make sense?

Right. I have also asked questions and have had no idea what the outcome would be (it was for a friend about her financial future, lol), and when I gave her the results, she started freaking out about how accurate the cards were. I've also done a reading on myself where I had no idea what the outcome would be, and the cards dealt with accuracy once again. I guess they are accurate, and I'm just a good guesser, lol. It's still a curious subject though. CAN one draw cards just because they are thinking about them or are the cards sending some sort of messages to you, or does this make those of us who can guess our readings somewhat psychic?

I wish some of the other tarot-readers would voice an opinion. I'd like to hear what they have to say too. I wonder if any of them have ever guessed a reading. Do you think so?

I could. I really could.. but I'm afraid of annoying somebody or askin' somebody who's not familiar with tarots. That would be embarrassing.

Just take a crack. I was scared the first time I PM'd someone. Just try it. Trust me, it gets easier.

And ask either an actualy tarot reader or someone who gets active in tarot conversations. (But not me )
