Pagan Weight Loss Program

Postby Risingpanther » Sat May 03, 2008 10:02 am

I have recently become fed up with my weight and tired of all the programs that adress the physical but not the spiritual needs of the dieter...I mean the Christians have those kinds of programs, why not us?

I am working on designing a week-by-week pagan weight loss program using some of the rituals/spells here, in my books, and of my own design, as well as what I know from dieting and redieting of what works and doesnt. As I have done a self-reading on the subject, I came to the conclusion I needed a support group and guinea pig test group to help out...and so I appeal to all of you. Anyone interested in trying it with me? Each week Ill post what Im doing under tips and advice, and give instructions for the week to come...spells rituals eating rules and exercise all in one post. What do you think? Let me know ^^

Im starting tomorrow, so let me know by then...Ill be waiting for interested people ^.~

Awesome! Thanks for your concern.

I can't believe no one has done this yet though; I guess that means you're a visionary! :D

Awesome idea! After all these events I've been celebrating, and left-over snacks and sodas, i could use a little assistance to getting back to my average weight, lol.

Sure! Count me in!

I just joined a gym last week, and have been three days now. Plus, I'm on a low fat, low "bad" sugar diet to boot.

I went on an antidepressant about two years ago, and slowly, over time, I've put on a whopping 50 pounds, even though I really didn't change my diet much.

I think my medication helped so much (I have severe anxiety/panic, PTSD) that my metabolism slowed down. I'm not bouncing off the friggin walls like I used to be. LOL. Plus, I turned 30, and my doc told me that sometimes the "Big 3-0" can be a real pain in the ass for women and weight.

Soooo......I decided to get up off my butt and get to the gym. It's pretty fun, but I'm sore!

And hungry! I just want a pizza and an ice cream! Ugh!

Hopefully, we can help each other out, and learn a thing or two.

this sounds really interesting to me but to be honest, i'm just not motivated right now. i lost weight last year and then with some family stuff that went on, put it back. my husband calls me "cuddly"(don't know if i should laugh or cry but i guess it could be worse). i think i'd like to watch and see how it goes for others first before joining in. good luck and much success to everyone!

Pleaseeeee count me in to!!!! Over the past 3 years ive put on a wopping 5 stone!!!!!!!!!!! although over the past 3 months i have lost a stone (14 pounds) !

Like Pinixi I to have been on antidepressents for a long time and slowly put the weight on, but since the new year i have been able to come off of them and on St. Johns Wort, so this could be due to some of my weight loss.

Unfortunately I am also waiting for Knee Surgery and havent been able to walk properly for the past year, although through having physiotherapy i am now off crutches and i am walking alot better, so alot of exercise i am unable to do. But recently have started to swim which is easier on the knee.

Anyway count me in for sure i still have another 3 stone to loose and really want to reach my goal by Christmas time!

Thanks for doing this! A great idea! I think that when trying to loose weight it is really important to have the support and the group will be excellent!!!!!

Oh, count me in too! That's a great idea you had.
Around January I started going to a "diet expert", but the whole having to go there every Saturday morning annoyed me and I stopped after 2 months. But I kept the programs and have a general idea of healthy eating. It's just sometimes I just don't have the will. I had been in a really bad place mentally and I've just started to get over it, so I think it's now time to try harder with my weight loss.
I think I'm around 175 pounds (counting in kilograms over here!), but I haven't weighted myself in at least 3 weeks. Me and the scale, never a close relationship...
