Past Lives

I don't believe in past lives necessarily, but I don't disbelieve in them either. Mostly I think that it is a very interesting concept (the joke between me and my fiancee is I was a cat in a past life). Is there anyway of finding out what you were in a past live, assuming they exist?

I know a little bit about my past life/lives. I went to this guy about something else and at some point, while he was looking for energy blocks in me, he found some stuff about a past life. We didn't go into it very far (didn't even check if there was more than one life) because we were looking for other stuff, but it was neat anyway.

personally i think scrying would be good for that.

but if you are going to go to anyone be very careful because past lives would be very easily into fooling someone with.

OK I have some information about past lives now. I went to a meetup last night and spoke to some people about that. Here's their advice:

There are two main ways to find out about your past life: a reading (scrying or divination as Sobek said) which is like a cotton swab, it only gets a few things and might be innaccurate or muddled, or a regression, which pretty much tells you what you want to know.

The dangers with looking into this involve your reasons for wanting to know. If you are trying to find out if something in your past lives is the cause of a current problem or behaviour then it's often not a good thing to know more than 'it was in a past life, not a current one'. Having this small bit of information can help you deal with your problem because you're aware of the source. But if you find out the details 'I have abandonment issues because of this tragic event where I .....' then you're more likely to dwell on your past life and not concentrate on the problem at hand, which might make it worse. It's just practicality, more than anything.

Regression is done through hypnosis and/or meditation, I believe. At least that's what I understood from the conversation last night. He described his regression as remembering events as if he was there, to the point that his hands were grasping and moving remembered items.

Reading I believe can be done with tarot and energy 'scans' (don't know the proper word... delving?). I'm looking into it more, I'll share what I find.

i don't believe in past lives bcoz it means that u'll never die.when some 1 old dies ,u may sometimes feel their spirit ,so when ur dead,it's over.
ur soul can't go to some other body ,or be (reborn),i can't explain exactly wut i wanna say but,past lives don't excist to me ,after death,u become a spirit that's why there is the day of judgment!no past lives!

ofcourse you die, thats what life leads too. some cultures believe that the soul or spirit will re-incarnate untill it has learned what it needs to or done what it has to before it can move on. that doesnt really conflict with ghosts or spirits because the form needed for certain obstacles preventing one moving might only be able to be pushed aside in said forms.

and with past lives or for better wording the concept of, it isnt really us back the we are we now not any other time. we may just share the core. im not %100 on past lives but it seems to fit sometimes. especially if you believe in destiny, fate, pre-destination and stuff.

why can't fate and destiny span over several life times? great things sometimes seem to happen when one person is drawn to a long deceased and person and feels compelled to complete thier work or something, could be a transition of core.

the Buddhists believe that karma can take several life times to catch up with a person.

Perhaps on our "Judgement Day" we are given the decision to select what we want. Reincarnation, live as a spirit, go to heaven, etc. I honestly think we all get what we want at some point in time depending on our beliefs.

A Past-Life Regression can be a wonderful thing if conducted by a properly trained person. You must also have complete trust in this person and theyre ability to keep you out of harm's way. (Dont try this at home!)

I've actually been through two of them, and although youll find many people out there who would say its all bull -- as for me, I can tell you I think its very real.

Thus far Ive been back thru at least four lives that I am aware of. The first was on in which I was a Nordic Warrior (think Erik the Red) and was part of an invasion of the Celtic Lands, where I took a wife and brought her back to my Nordic home. I can describe in detail where I was, what I was wearing, and everything around me -- as if I was looking at it in real time.

The second was one in which I was a medieval serf who worked on someone's land. I had a wife here too.

The third I was an Egyptian. Some kind of business owner or traders of goods. My wife and I lived peacefully and quietly.

The fourth one I was a resident of Atlantis, owned a seafaring business of some type, and lived with my daughter (no idea where my wife, if any was). In this life I dies during the sinking of Atlantis, and had terrible feelings because I was not with my daughter when we both perished (for some reason I couldnt get there to her).

Now, here's the VERY strange part of this. I can tell you my names in each life, and my wife's name (or my daughter's). If you believe in your perfect soulmate youll appreciate this: the woman in each life is the SAME woman I am with in this life -- as if we have travelled through the universe side by side. Can I prove that fact -- nope. But even though I cant i KNOW it to be true.

I agree with ravenwing. The person conducting the session should at least know what they are doing, my guide was no professional but he knew a bit about it and the session turned out to be interesting to say the least. Wasn't really what I'd hoped for but later on it made alot of sense. My friend had a good technique that I think is reliable... Turn down the lights maybe put on some candles, close your eyes and get relaxed, breath slowly in through the nose out through the mouth and your guide should lead you into a vision of sorts, maybe descending a stairway and coming to a door... Then you sort of let your subconscious take over, usually the first pictures that come to mind. You gotta be be honest though, completely honest with yourself and simply take what you get. It may not much make sense at first or for some time afterward but chances are if the session was conducted properly you should get some feedback that will lead you to subjective clarity. Its worth a try if you can find the right partner. Thats the extent of my experience with it, so best of luck.

That means absolutely nothing. Your life can be predestined throughout just 1 life, or your entire spiritual path (meaning past lives.) I also believe Fate and Destiny are on just a physical basis but that doesn't mean it effects our spirits. For example, there are a certain few people that you're connected to, like a spiritual family. These people you're predestined to run into every life you have in different relationships; a brother in one life, a boyfriend in another, a pet in another one.

Fate vs past lives really have absolutely nothing to do with each other and if they did, fate would prove past lives, not disprove it.
