Tried tasseography for the first time last night, saw something concerning.

I've been extremely anxious about school recently, and I decided to try to see if I could try doing some tasseography to get a bit of guidance. After watching a few tutorials, I tried doing a past, present, future reading. None of the tea stuck to the rim nor sides, it all settled to the bottom and formed a concerning image-that of a man in a heavy cloak and a hood, glaring right at me. Needless to say, not a great omen. Something else interesting that might be related, the morning after I did the reading, I found a ton of bright orange mushrooms that grew in my yard overnight. They look most similar to Conocybe filaris or Gliophorus perplexus, neither of which are endemic to where I live and both of which are inedible, the former of which being deadly poisonous. I might post pictures if they're still there tomorrow. I've never seen mushrooms like them before.
May somebody help me interpret the image? I couldn't get a good picture before I had to clean the mug, but I didn't see any other shapes in it. I'm having a hard time describing what I think it means, but the easiest way for me to say it is that I'll get into kahoots with the wrong people. This is my first time trying tasseography, so I probably did something wrong. Thanks in advance.

As I’d read your post I thought of a guide glaring at you like “make better choices”. That was before I’d reached the bottom of the paragraph with the same general idea.

Thanks for the perspective. I have made quite a few poor decisions recently, that may be the meaning of the image. Still open to more interpretations though.

Here's an image of the mushrooms, by the way. No clue what they are, I couldn't find any good matches, especially not in my area (southeast US). They appeared the morning after the reading, might bright orange mushrooms be a warning from the spirits?

Was there evening humidity or heavy dew overnight in the past week? That might cause the dampness the soil needs for the mushrooms to sprout. The ones in my yard are brown and spring up seemingly overnight but it’s probably because I don’t see it happening. I’ve never known earth spirits to be interested in human matters. They just don’t relate to our emotions and issues.

If you intuit in terms of synchronicity then what is orange? About all I can think of is the color associated with Will, tenacity, etc. If orange equates to warning in your lexicon then that’s ok, but it’s most likely your personal association & not earth spirits. That’s just my .02 cents.

Thank you. I tried doing another reading tonight and asked what I need to do better and saw 3 ospreys flying in the bottom of my mug. Ospreys are a symbol of focus and commitment-things I struggle with immensely. I do think I need to improve in those aspects if I want to succeed.
