Re: Altar objects and supplies
For an alter I believe one doesn't need to get a lot or have it be fancy to have it work. Mine is basically a wooden box, burned out candles and incense xD
Re: Altar objects and supplies
I'm moving this to questions and answers.
Re: Altar objects and supplies
I suggest chime candles! They come in all colours, and are coloured all the way through!

I suggest a mind, that works for your own
Ok, that was a bit on the unfair side. I think you already have enough stuff for a nice altar I would just add a bit of nature, maybe a flower?
Did you know that the things that belong on your altar are your free choice? There is no one who can say you what's right or wrong unless you follow a very specific path. So you can just try out, what works for you. Maybe the "Show your altar"-thread in the witchcraft-school will give you some nice inspiration.

Re: Altar objects and supplies
An altar is nothing but a table. It isnt special, it isnt required etc.. it is just a handy place to make a nice little display and keep your stuff in one place. It has no power and it is not important.
Dont worry about what you "need" on your altar, have what you want. I dont have one, like Traumwandlerin hinted at you need nothing but your own mind.
I assume you are a true wiccan follower and not someone who is unsure... Wicca is not witchcraft or paganism, it is just a small branch of paganism. I am not wiccan and to my knowledge no-one else in this thread is wiccan. Dont feel singled out, however understand that there is a difference. There are plenty of other wiccans on the board.

Re: Altar objects and supplies
I recomend incense using a charcoal disk and some herbs or resins to use with it rather than sick or cone incense, there are so many different blends you can do and it's not that expensive - a lot of stuff can be bought at the supermarket

Re: Altar objects and supplies
I was wondering what people use to represent earth. I have heard that some people use sand or salt in a bowl. What is the best option? Sand? Salt?
Re: Altar objects and supplies
I think it really depends on you, if you have to keep your altar and path secret from roommates, parents, etc then you can use something as simple as a small dish of 'bath salts' etc. As long as when you see it, it reminds you of Earth it should work

This is what I am, here is where I remove my mask.
Re: Altar objects and supplies
I use a stone, cause I use salt for other things!
You can use sand, a plant, a stone, salt, basically anything, as Asch has said.

Re: Altar objects and supplies
The OP might consider
. ”Wiccan Spells” by Lisa Chamberlain
. Stones - all-purpose white Quartz can be found on the ground, graveled paths or at garden stores
. Notebook & pen, plus colored pens for drawing sigils
. Moon phase calendar or print current year dates
. A heat-safe metal or heavy ceramic bowl for small burning tasks (if allowed)
. Potion cup or H2O bowl
. Grocery store -
salt for purifying, birthday or utility candles for candle-spells
. Pharmacy - sweet oil blend of olive (victory) & almond (luck) oils; use for anointing spells to hold psychic charge
Re I was wondering what people use to represent earth. I have heard that some people use sand or salt in a bowl. What is the best option? Sand? Salt?
The element of earth is natural, solid forms of matter so anything like plants, wood, stone, metal can apply. Salt has added uses as a purifier. Sand can be used as heat shield in a burning bowl.
