Why should I cast a spell?

Hi Guys I've been struggling with the why of spell casting, as in what's the point?

I don't have any physical needs. I have a home, a job, good friends. I need nothing. My only problems are down to me being lazy or undisciplined which I don't feel a spell is for. Basically I'm confused about magic. From my understanding, magic is for attracting something in to your life or repel it. Which I don't need.

I see witches on youtube who have spells for this and that on the go all the time and I feel like I'm missing something because surely a spell should only be used in dire need of an opportunity. the things I want and need in life right now can only be done through hard work and dedication.

So with that said, just because we can do magic, should we do it? And if theres no real reason to do it then why do it at all?

Maybe a spell for clarity and understanding would help you. Being able to work with magic doesn't mean you have to do so all the time.

Why not use your power to help others? There is plenty of suffering in the world.

You can also always charge your cleaners, water your drinking, etc to purify the area and yourself. As SnowCat said you probably need a clarity spell. I did this recently with an herbal tea that I charged. If you want the recipe I'd be happy to share it.

Yes please clarity spell would be great, i haven't cast anything in nearly a year so I'm feeling very unmagical. I would use spells for people but the people around me are either very skeptical or superstitious. My mum isn't religious at all but as soon as i talk about magic she qoutes the bible. (i don't even think she's read it)

Magical working isn't just spells to acquire the things we need to live. Some related practices (beyond spells) put us in sync with Nature to open awareness to broader reality. So instead of wasting time on gimme-gimme spells we can explore by using the same techniques.

In addition to everything said above I have the following to add. I recently had a similar discussion with a family member who didn’t understand. I explained it like this. Have you ever read one of those devotional calendars? What about the alcoholic who stands before the mirror one morning and with resolve, repeats “I will not drink today”, then successfully makes it through the day? That person unknowingly cast a spell. They aren’t just words paired with a desire. They focus your mind and energies into accomplishing something. Thought->action->result.

Magic isn't all about doing, it's about developing a magical practice - about connecting to something outside your self-conceived limitations.
