Hello and good morning everyone!
I am so excited to be a part of this forum, I've been looking for something like this for a while and I never thought to join a forum until just the other day my fiancée suggested it. Anyways, my name is Mikayla and I am 22 and I live in Oregon.
My journey learning about the craft started about two years ago. I was baptized and grew up Christian, I still like the feeling of church, the singing and community and spirituality, but I never really agreed with the religion, I took a world religions class in college hoping to find something more fitting for my ideals. I thought maybe Buddhist for a while, but then I found in my grandparents basement a bunch of ritual supplies and I asked them about it. They really didn't say much, it's been a rumor in the family that my grandparents are witches. I went to the book store and picked up a spell book, the witches bible and Phyllis Currots book of shadows. I loved it. Wicca is so full of magic and love and nature. The natural world is one that I believe we as a society need to return to and practicing this religion makes me feel so much closer to that, it brings me to the earth.
Anyways, origin stories... haha I'll move on. My hobbies include hiking, painting, rock hunting and tumbling and wire wrapping (still learning the wire wrapping) I hope this isn't too long of an introduction post, I look foreword to all of our interactions here on this forum [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Hi Mikayla, I just joined as well! I have used similar sites and it is a lot of fun just knowing other people are out there that share your same views, or even if they are a little different than yours, there is peace in the knowledge that you won't get scoffed at for believing something out of the norm. I hope we find boundless conversations and comradery here!
ps: rock hunting is so much fun! Though I am not an expert at identifying them :/ I just know when they are pretty. Have you ever gone metal detecting? The two go hand in hand quite well

Thank you Isidor, and yes! I have gone metal detecting a few times before, it is really fun! Once I found a part of a car engine buried in the back yard, I used to imagine there was a whole car buried down there...there wasn't. anyways aside the point haha I just got a new rock tumbler and my fiancé and I went to the beach and found a bunch of rocks. I've heard that's not a good place to find stones? But I don't understand why not, there are so many there. After tumbling our finds I saw that one of the pinkish rocks was actually a deep rose quartz. It was already perfectly oval when we picked it up and the tumbler brought out all of its sparkle and shine.Hi Mikayla, I just joined as well!
