Circle of protection, candle question

I have a question about candles in a circle of protection. If you are casting a circle outside and one goes out in the middle of a ritual should you relight it or leave it?

I'm interpreting your phrase "circle of protection" as a standard Wiccan circle for a solitary rite with candles marking the quarters. I'd make the decision based on where I was in the rite when the candle went out. Candles mark doors. If you have completed the welcoming portion then the light has done it's job & isn't needed any longer. If you have not finished your greetings then I'd say it's polite to relight it.
