What do you do with offerings?

I have been meditating and gathering the items for my second ever spell. I'm going to perform an enchantment spell but I'm a little confused. The spell calls for an offering to aphrodite. I've been able to find a good list of items that are good offerings (I think I am going to do chocolate, is this a good idea?) but the spell doesn't give instructions on what to do with the offering after the spell is done so what is it I should do with it?

Leave it where it is after the spell for the Goddess to do with as she pleases

Addendum: I would chose something other than chocolate with the above in mind as chocolate can be toxic to the local wildlife.

In Greek tradition food offerings to Aphrodite would generally either be burnt entirely, or a small portion burned, and the rest eaten as sort of a blessed meal by the devotees. (This is symbolic of the idea that we give to the gods, so the gods can give to us, so we can give to the gods... etc.) If neither of these options works well for you, you could also leave them outside under the sky, or if you happen to live near a beach, you could leave them there, but as was mentioned, you'll want to take into account the wildlife that will encounter your offerings. A nice quality chocolate is a good offering to Aphrodite in general, and you can even melt it down into hot chocolate if you want to do a libation (which would be alright to pour outside after).

Here's what I ended up doing. The spell called for a picture of a person you wish to have feelings for you. Then burning that picture and burying the ashes outside. The spell said to do it in the home which is what made it really confusing to me what to do with the offering. I just decided to do the spell outside. What I did was I burned the chocolate along with the picture and buried it along with the ashes from the picture and also placed the half dozen roses I had on top of the soil of the buried ashes as an additional offering.
