Candle magick went wrong! :O

Hey!
So... I just lost my job. I've been carpetbombing resumes, but I thought to help things along, I would try a spell.
I dressed a green candle with cinnamon and saffron, put it in a jar with some rice and a few pennies beneath it, set my intentions and lit it. That was two days ago.
It didn't burn down all the way. The wick suddenly went skewampus and was burning OUT THE SIDE OF THE CANDLE. It fizzled out at almost exactly midnight, right before I went to bed.
I have a job interview tomorrow, and this is making me nervous. Is this a bad sign?!?
Any help or advice would be appreciated!

For anyone else giving you a personal opinion, it won't mean as much as your own because it's your spell, and only you know what you put into it.

And that said, the stubborn, old *itch in me would say not to let any spell -yours or anyone else's- take over your common sense or let it rule your life. Magic is an aid, not a substitute, for our efforts. Make that little extra effort. And best wishes for a fulfilling employment.
