Question about a Medallion
Question about a Medallion
My cousin was doing some metal detecting around Quincy, IL. He found this cross with a figure and a star on it. We were wondering if it had anything to do with Wicca. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Question about a Medallion
Not ever have I seen such. Perhaps this is someone's way of combining Wicca with Christianity. Looks like it's made of clay, what do you suppose the red stone is?

Re: Question about a Medallion
Arghh it's so frustrating. I know I've seen the crucified goddess somewhere, but I can't recall where. It is not Wiccan. It's not meant to be Christian, but is one of the cross-culture adaptations. Not Hoodoo or Santeria or Comdoble (sp.?) either. Not Luciferian...gaaaah! ifmimcan come up with it, I'll get back to you. Maybe someone else ...

Re: Question about a Medallion
I just did a quick search on Crucified Goddess...whoa, there is a lot out there! One site said Inanna was crucified. I think She was hung on a hook...same idea. Jesus is not the only crucified deity, nor the only deity to resurrect. Norse Odin hung on a tree. The Egyptian Osiris was dismembered and his pieces were scattered. He was reassembled & resurrected by Isis. Both the cross and pentagram are pre-Christian symbols. The skull is making me think of Haitian rites...but I can't associate that with a goddess. I'm way out of my league. Anyhow, it is not a blasphemous sign, but one of reverence. I just can't pin it down. I even found a lengthly article from Free Masonry on this and also female martyrs. So...I'm stumped.

Thank you for the research. I just did not know where to even start. You have at the very least given me a direction to look.

Re: Question about a Medallion
I dreamt about this last night and the Illumimati featured frequently in what I can recall. So maybe that is where I saw the particular combination. They don't write much about themselves, so everything is second hand and on the Internet, that is a free for all, wildly random. I encountered them thru another of their symbol of red owls.
