Karma question

Postby Eclipse2010 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 8:26 pm

Several years ago I was deeply hurt by a "friend" who had an affair with my husband. She has since moved on and lives in a different state. Recently, I was contacted by a "Document Delivery Service". The caller was looking for my ex-friend and said documents needed to be delivered to her to avoid legal action being taken against her. I *could* find her contact info, but didn't have it on hand. The caller gave me a phone number and reference number and asked me to relay that information to my ex-friend. Now, I'm not terribly interested in contacting her for obvious reasons. So my question is, do I get bad karma if I simply do nothing and fail to pass this information along to her?

Thanks for any advice!

I think it's more karma catching up to her. You could choose to send the information, or not too. I personally would let her actions catch up with her.
I'm a spiteful, hateful, venomous creature, a pupil with no scruples who's no better then my teacher. Also not actually a raven.

Thank you, Raven At Heart. That is my own inclination. I know she runs all sorts of scams. I've never done anything to cause her any harm, but this time.... well, I still do nothing and it catches up to her anyway. Yeah. *smile*

I just wanted to run this by other, more objective people to make sure I wasn't being vindictive with my inaction. I don't think so though. It would be highly stressful and harmful to myself to contact her.

Thanks for helping me see the situation clearly. :)

I agree.

And besides, it sounds like they're just interested in her phone number, which means you don't even need to talk to her.

And on a side note:
A perfect example is warlock. In the 1950s it got a new meaning to mean oath breaker by Gardener. This was by no means what the word meant nor is there any root word for it. That does not change the fact it is now the modern root for the word instead of it's original Norse meaning, spirit caller.
I didn't know this about the word. I always thought a warlock was a warrior/sorcerer type. BUT I'm basing that understanding on video games

I've moved some of the posts on this thread to a new one: DISCUSSION: What is Karma? in the FAQ forum. I don't want to stray too far from the OP's specific question on this thread but I want to give enough space to discuss the larger concept.

It sounds like she brought the possibility of legal action on herself. I expect that the folks looking for her have access to the Internet and many other information sources, so I would say, in the most basic sense, you would actually be encouraging their spiritual growth by declining to do their work for them. Sort of the "give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime." The process servers are paid to "get their man," just like the Mounties. The fact that they have a stinky low paying job, is really not your problem.
