A year and a day question

Postby Amefurin » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:54 am

I realize it is a period of time dedicated to our study as a witch before we fully commit ourselves to this path it also ends with initiation. It is then when we become an official witch..

Does it mean though that there are some things we should not do before the end of The Year and a Day?
I mean... Is it supposed to be almost strictly theory time?

There should definitely be some practice in there, as practice is essential to the experience, and to deciding if this is something you really want to dedicate yourself further to. I'm not sure if you're looking at practicing Wicca, or more to witchcraft in general, but it's a time to learn and practice a lot of the basics like ritual structures, energy work, and things like tools, holidays, deities, ethics, etc, if you're looking at a particular tradition. Also, if you're working solitary, some find they want to take more than the traditional year and a day, and some don't really follow that particular idea and don't really ever do the whole self-dedication thing, finding that the time frame and initiation bit is more relevant to covens than solitary people. Just some other things to consider, it's really up to you the pace you work at.
