Dreamcatchers

I've been making dream catchers for about two years, mostly as a hobby. I keep most of them around my house, for decoration, or I give them away to my loved ones so that they may have sweet dreams. I haven't yet attempted any spells in association with the Dreamcatchers, so I was wondering if anyone had any helpful tips on enchanting one to help with insomnia or nightmares. I have a general idea on how I'm going to do the spell/enchantment as I make the Dreamcatcher, I guess what I'm trying to ask is if there's anything special that I should do with the materials before/during/after I make it? Should I tie a crystal into the web of it? Has anyone else here done this before? What do you guys recommend?

I have not made any myself, I have instruction on how to,
I just haven't gotten around to attempt it yet. I have a few
on bedroom wall, Hubby has one in the shape of a pig (nick-
name (pigpen) and a crystal in it.
I wonder how hard it would be to go from round to odd
shapes ?
I would imagine you can work spells into it like sweet dreams,
no nightmares, peaceful sleep, maybe even prophetic dreams ?

My suggestion is to charge the materials in the light of the full moon before making the dream catcher, and then perhaps charging again when you have the whole thing completed. As for stones, maybe you could use a stone or two (depending on size) associated with the moon, dreams or banishing nightmares. Try the Crystals & Stones post for some help. If you want to incorporate color correspondences, you could use materials that are white, silver or blue.
