Help with seizures/epilepsy?

Hi, so a couple days ago I had a seizure. It was the most terrifying day of my life and I want to do everything in my power to prevent it from happening again. My cat scan came back clean and I have an MRI scheduled next Tuesday but with my family history it's probably going to be epilepsy and not a tumor or anything. But I still want to take steps outside of modern medicine to try to prevent a seizure from coming on again, along with whatever my doctor recommends. Does anyone have any knowledge on any spells or anything that might help? Please and thank you. (also posted in herbs forum)

Other than the obvious answer of waiting for what your physician has to say, if it is epilepsy they will most likely place you on medications. Figure out your triggers (if any) and avoid them. Unfortunately I don't know of any "human" natural remedies only those for dogs (I had a dog with epilepsy) she was on two meds and I gave her coconut water gelatin treats which helped a lot. possibly diet changes may help you, like cutting out processed sugars. I agree with Adastra. Figure out your triggers and avoid them. If you need to be on medication, get accurate information about it. Your local pharmacist is a good resource for that.

Of course check in with your doc, and I know cutting out processed sugars and something else (it wasn't caffeine, but I can't remember right now what it was) is supposed to help. Really, I'm bumping this so I remember to ask N. About it. I know some of the changes she's made helped her out, so I'm sure she's got a tip or 2.

In the mean time, citrine and amethyst both help mental dungeon by improving the brains performance. I'm extrapolating, but you might try wearing or carrying one. Let me know how that works, as it's kind of an extrapolation

I can attest to seizures being frightening, I was diagnosed when I was 16 but don't have them very often. I've never turned to magick to prevent them because I simply don't have them very often and it doesn't impede on my daily life, other than the fact that I'm not allowed to drive.

Anyway, I have heard there are different diet lifestyle changes such as a high fat or keto style diets that can help for more severe cases, but I also have found this book on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/0658013793/ref ... U9A2733SM5

I haven't read it, but like I said, I don't have too many issues with mine and just take medicine. Maybe you will find more solace in reading a book like this one. Wish I could be more helpful as a fellow epileptic

After you talk to a doctor they will tell you to avoid triggers and certain foods and what not to help prevent them as well.

Well I just got mri results back yesterday and it turns out I have an aneurysm but they don't think it caused the seizures. I get to talk to a neurologist next month and see if he can't figure this out. Thanks for the advice tho. Just the day after a seizure I was willing to do just about anything to make sure it didn't happen again ya know?

I am very sorry to hear of your situation with both your aneurysm and the seizure that you had. I grew up with a epileptic mom and I know how scary such things can be. Besides traditional medicine there is nothing that I know of to really prevent seizures. I agree with the others about focusing on what triggers them and changing your diet leaving processed sugars out. There are many resources out there for people with both of these conditions. I will send healing energy your way. For now try and stay as positive as you can. I worked with a woman once who had had like 4-5 aneurysm's and is still able to work and lead a normal life. I'm sorry that this stuff happened and you have to go through it. I had a mild seizure disorder as a kid and was lucky enough to grow out of it.
