Substitutions for Love Spells!

I've noticed that A LOT of witches have a problem with love spells, or are afraid of performing them, because it implies that you are twisting someone else's free will. For me, I would never stop someone from doing one unless it was actively hurting another person, but I don't really like them that much for myself. Here are some ways you could indirectly find love and/or support your own chances with a potential partner.

- Do a spell to enhance a trait that your crush likes in you. Make sure you like this trait too, because changing yourself for love will most likely make you unhappy.

- Do a Happiness spell, because if that person loving you back would make you happy, this might help.

- A Luck spell, for obvious reasons.

- Pray to/leave an offering for Aphrodite or any love deity in your chosen pantheon.

- Instead of wishing for someone to love you, wish for them to notice you more often. This way, it is their own choice whether or not they decide to date you, but you have more of a chance.

- Suggested by Nightwatcher: A spell for courage, so you can admit your feelings confidently!

- If possible, do some divination (tarot cards, runes, pendulum) BEFORE you try these, so that you may have a clearer view of what will work/how that person feels about you or how they COULD feel about you.


Of course, just remember, if you do try love spells, there is nothing wrong with it. This is just for people who would like a different approach. c: In fact, if you do two of these, it could be just as powerful as a complex, elaborate love spell. I guess this is also for lovers on a budget. XD

On your last paragraph, I have to disagree though - it is very wrong to mess with someone's mind and this in my view is exactly what love spells are. I believe that spells can't create love, just obsession, yet I know they are commonly referred to as "white magick".
Still, the whole idea of substitute spells is great, thank you.

Thanks for adding! But that's the thing- we can't really know for sure. You have your opinion, but this is where the grey area of morality comes in. Whether it is wrong or not depends on the person you ask. It also depends on the intent of the spell. Is it a spell to make someone fall in love with you, or is it to find love? Personally, I think we just have to be careful. Of course this is just my opinion. (:
