how do i practice w/o my little brother knowing?

Postby valerian moon » Sat Aug 09, 2014 6:16 am

so i watch my little brother during the day, which is when my mind is most active, so i prefer to do my rituals and prayers during the day. the thing is, he either wouldn't understand, or he'd tell my grandpa about my practices, and my grandpa is very intolerant. :( (my brother is 9) i already had the idea to tell him i'm going to take a bath and do a quick prayer or ritual, any other ideas about how i can practice behind his back?

Could you try to turn it into a game of sorts ?
Off the top of my head...bless this, jump that,
say hello to the Earth Mother(outside?)
Try to find a way to make it fun for him and
that way you might not have to do it behind
his back ???

Read myths and legends together with him. You'll both be learning new things about the Gods. Reading is pretty innocuous, and I doubt anyone would object to it as long as the stories are age appropriate. :)

He's a Christian so I can't really do that, because at his young age he chose that. I mean, I could read him Celtic legends, and let him choose. I think that's what I'll do

The Pooka Pages are awesome! My little guy will love so much of that
So with thy all; thou hast no right but to do thy will.
Do that, and no other shall say nay.
For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.

Pooka Pages? I am going to be looking into this for sure! Haha!

And moon, you could honestly turn anything you do daily into something for your practice. It's what I do, because I now live with roommates and I'd rather they not see what I'm doing. You could make jewelry for spells (I made a 'friendship' bracelet to try and help my father be more civil towards me when I'm around him, rather help him see the light without any of his free will being removed) and your brother would never the difference. There are various ways to be inconspicuious (sp?) about practicing. My children are both Christian and my oldest, who is 13 thinks Paganism is evil and refuses to listen thanks to her dad and stepmom so when they are with us I have to try and find ways myself. Normally I will just go outside, sit in the grass watching the girls play as I sit and meditate and breathe in Mother Earth. The kids do not suspect anything they just think Mom is "chillin" lol.
