Any suggestions for initiation??

I've been studying witchcraft for awhile now and I'm 100% sure that I want to dedicate myself to the craft. I'm just having trouble gathering ideas of how to do initiation ritual.

How did you dedicate yourself to the craft?

Do you have any suggestions of what I can do to make the ritual special?

Hi there snapdragon,

Creating my alter was really something of a year long dedication ritual. As I gathered each piece, it was a reflection of my journey towards accepting and fully embracing this part of my life. When I had collected everything that I wanted or needed for my alter, I felt complete, and therefore ready to dedicate myself to my path. As I placed the last item, I said a simple prayer to my gods and to myself and that was that. It wasn't elaborate or much of a ritual, but it felt right and I haven't looked back.

What makes a dedication special is how much of yourself you put into it. Writing your own chants or prayers can be very powerful. Lighting candles and incense, or playing music that's uplifting to you can help set the mood if you need it. Many witches preferred to perform their dedication outside, under a full moon.

I lit a white candle, lit some incense I read Isis likes, asked if Isis
was trying to get my attention with all the places I've heard and saw Her name...
I told her I was ready for Her to become my Goddess.
Time passed as I say my nightly prayer, I've added more to it.
Now I need to get me/find me a Earth Mother statue to go on my alter.
Things change over time as we learn and grow on our chosen path,
sometimes it can change a 180deg to something completely different.
Always leave your heart open for whatever comes your way, it may
surprise you
