Random question on colors

I have a random question that pertains to colors. I'm still really new at this so I'm not sure if this has any meaning behind it or not. Ok, my favorite color is blue. I love blue, I have a lot of things that are blue. I'm a very blue kinda girl, lol. But ever since I decided to get back on the Wicca path, I've found myself being drawn to other colors. Like deep red and especially darker shades of purple. Does this have any significance?

It could be significant. It could be you're drawn more to the darker shades than the lighter in general.

The thing about colors is their meaning varies depending on which path you follow (or which culture you're from).

Blues generally tend to signify calm, truth, water, emotion. Reds may be interpreted as passion, strength, energy, rage. Purple generally means the spirit (or the psychic), change, and occasionally obsession and misunderstanding.

But I'll say the same thing here as I've said on other topics before; the most accurate method of finding out what these colors signify to you is to spend some time with them to determine what they mean to you. Put something blue/red/purple in front of you and take note on what the color brings to mind and how it makes you feel. That will be your most accurate guide.

Actually, I'm the same way! Blue(especially darker shades of blue) has always been my favorite color, and sometimes purple/red/black. It's only been the past year or so that I've been more towards those colors besides blue.
I've always wondered why, since(I think) water is my element :/

Im the same way about blue. I am very drawn to it, I wear lots of blues. I buy everything in blue. I wear lapis lazuli alot.

Personally, I think Im drawn to blue because of the throat chakra, which is the one I usually have an imbalance in. I have a hard time expressing myself verbally, and standing up for myself, speaking up for myself. Blue balances the throat chakra.

Im also very drawn to the element of water, so again blue.

Relating to chakras (if you are interested) red is for the root chakra and purple is for the crown chakra usually (some people use a clear light for the crown or even a rainbow, but mostly its seen as purple/violet).

Red could also be a relation to the fire element.

I think just sitting with the color and thinking about what it means to YOU is the best way to find out why you are drawn to them. What kind of things come up for you when you see/wear/etc the color?
