I have this stress spell and you are suppose to chant it,
"I drop this luggage from my shoulders,
I let this anxiety fall from my heart."
The second part, is easier.
By this circle they are bound,
by this burning they are banished."
I don't sing, I have the hardest time finding a natural rhythm, and that first part is just unghh. I tried splitting it in half =
I drop THIS lugggg gageeee
from my shoulderssss
I LET this
, but as soon as I get to anxiety, my rhythm is gone.
Any idea how I can improve that. Any videos? I looked on youtube, and all the videos about learning how to chant, where the Ommmmm kind of chants.
Thanks guys, (I hope this is the right section, feel free to move!)

Chanting longer spells?
Re: Chanting longer spells?
Have you tried saying it in your mind? If that is more comfortable, I would try it that way until you feel confident enough chanting allowed.

I just chant in my mind...

Re: Chanting longer spells?
But saying them out loud makes the spell stronger... or?
But I will try that next time.
But I will try that next time.

Re: Chanting longer spells?
Oh I love chanting! I write a lot myself and have an account on Youtube filled with them:

euhm, now that I'm done with the shameless self promotion...
When writing chants you need to repeat it a few times to yourself, you will find that words flow quite natural, once you get into their rhythm chanting them becomes easy.
I drop this luggage from my shoulders,
(because of the I in the beginning these feel like seperate sentences rather than one whole.)
I let this anxiety fall from my heart.
I drop /this luggage/ from my shoulders (this is a standert three beat)
Let the anxiety/ fall from my heart (This is a two beat which also makes it a more complicated flow)
By/ this circle/ they are bound, (3)
by /this burning/ they are banished. (3)
You have a comfortable three step rhythm, I found a comfortable rhythm after just repeating them a few times. I would suggest taking another look at the second sentence and changing it enough to make it into a three step.
Hope this helps,
Bless

Oh thank you so much! I'm as musical as a loaf of bread. I must try this asap! I dunno why I am fixated on two beats!

Re: Chanting longer spells?
Well you're musical enough to write your own chants so perhaps you're more musically inclined than you think.
Don't forget to share the finished result! Super curious to see what you do with it.

Oh, I did not write this particular spell. It is from the book, Spellcraft by Ann-Marie Gallagher. But I have started my own.
Share? In here, or start a book of shadows here?
