Is this a defensive spell?

Hi, I was looking for defensive spell and I found this, what do you think?

Casting Instructions for ' Elemental Curse'

Oh Elements that be:
By the dark winds that foul and scour,
By the dried earth that brings famine and suffering,
By the dark fires that scorch and sear,
By raging waters that chokes and consumes life,
Elemental powers, open the doors of dispair for: ''insert full name here'' Bring to ''him/her'' the pain which ''he/she'' needs,
to cleanse ''his/her'' soul of cruelty,
by the power of the Four elements!
i ask by wind,
by earth,
by fire
and by water!
Let it be Done.

Repeat Four times, or as You feel necessary

Sounds more like a binding spell or a cleansing spell if you ask me.

I agree it is a cleansing spell and quite possibly one to force it, weather the person wants it or not.

Sounds like a curse to me.... but then I'm generally a pacifist.....

i wouldn't really call this a defensive spell, it sounds to me to be more offensive than defensive.

This definitely sounds like a curse to me. Just the language used, particularly "By raging waters that chokes and consumes life,
Elemental powers, open the doors of despair for:"
Sort of tips me off that this isn't defensive. This is most certainly all about calling despair on another person, probably in retribution for a real or perceived wrong.
It's up to you whether you use it or not, but it doesn't SOUND very pleasant, to me.
