Hey everyone... I really need your help. I have a friend that I really care about and well, shes depressed. Shes not really all that enthusiastic about her favourite sport, her grades are going down, she doesnt even want to go after the guy she likes, she's basically drained; which is what she told me. I just need something, so that all the negative energy in her goes away. I really want to help her. I just need something that will make her happier. Please and thank-you. -xo

True that, Serendipity.
Herb wise though... Ravencry posted a bunch of teas to drink in the Herb section under my post "Depression"
Also!! I started taking Tulsi, really amazing stuff. It is calming and eases depression.
But, she may have a depression problem(maybe in the family) so all this stuff may not help!!

Breathing in I feel gratitude; Breathing out I give thanks.
Breathing in I feel joyful; Breathing out I celebrate.
Breathing in I know compassion; Breathing I am compassion.
Breathing in I feel loved; Breathing out I offer love.
Breathing in I am still; Breathing out I am at peace.
Om.

The problem is that with something like this a lay person often doesn’t know which came first the cart or the horse.
Is this person "drained" because of depression which would indicate an emotional problem or mental health problem, or is she depressed because she's feeling so "drained" which would seem to indicate a physical health problem?
Whenever there is a chance of physical health issues the best thing to do is to always start with a medical doctor.
And if it isn't physical health then it is a mental health issue and those can come from vastly different reasons. Perhaps this person has something going on in her life that she has a right to be upset about, no amount of herbs will help that. Somebody needs to help her find a way to cope with a very real problem in a way that avoids letting the problem have so much control over her life.
On the other hand maybe her life is just fine and dandy and she's depressed anyway. In a situation like that there is usually some physical reason for the depression but it often takes a psychiatrist to find it as psychiatrists are both physical and mental health doctors and understand the workings of the brain better than your average M.D.
Whatever is decided I wish her good luck. But, I do always opt for information before I head to the herb (or any other) cabinet.

Maybe try this one: Spell to Help a Friend in Pain
Also, someone told me a ritual for sending positive energy to someone. All you need is water, salt, and a white candle. Here's what you do. Mix the salt into the water while thinking positive, loving thoughts of her. Then, set the glass somewhere where it can get sun for a while if at all possible. Spend as much time as you can the rest of the day sending thoughts of love and pure white light into the glass. Then, once it is late, light a white candle next to the glass. Sit down in front of the candle and continue thinking of her and sending light her way.
But, yeah, you probably need to do something nonmagical to help as well.

Re: A Depressed Friend
I agree wtih everyone's comments here. I work in the Mental Health field and deal with Depressed people everyday. I think your friend needs to see a professional before resorting to any spells or ritual to help. Depression runs in people's genes or sometimes depression is situational even seasonal. Its very common for teenagers to come to a point in their adolesence where they're unhappy with everything (horomones) and end up depressed often times they resort to cutting to get an adrenaline rush and help them forget even if its just for a few minutes. ( no I do not recommend doing that at all) I, myself am being treated for Depression and am on Medication for it so often times, its just something she should go see a Doctor for. I think that should be the first resort but I wish your friend the best of luck and Blessings
Re: A Depressed Friend
If she can't afford medical help, the next best thing is for her to talk to a neutral older person.
***edit: Is there a school counsellor?
Also, consider ginkgo biloba or st. john's wort, carefully considering negative side effects based on any medication she is on and any health problems she has. Have her take one pill a day for two weeks, and have her steadily up her dosage until she feels an effect. Don't go over the recommended dosage.
It worked for me. But, again, you need to be careful. It's probably not as dangerous as MDs make it out to be though. Keep in mind though, that I haven't visited a doctor in three years. So get a second opinion about the herbs; my advice may be dangerous.
