I read these books in middle school and have recently considered re-reading them because they were so good. My mother (who has been Wiccan since before I was born) also liked them a lot. The second one, while not as realistic as the first in my opinion, is still very good and moving with some really powerful moments. Consider your recommendation seconded and thirded, on my mother's behalf.
