cleansing runes with only incense?

Hi, I am new to rune casting and have a few questions. First of all can you cleanse your runes and cloth and bag with only insence? If yes then how? Also does your cloth and bag have to be any color in particular? Thanks! -Willow!

The incense is largely irrelevant. What cleanses the runes is not smoke but energy, and the incense probably contains VERY little if any energy, you on the other hand have plenty... The act of burning incense just says to your subconscious "right, since he(/she) is burning incense that MUST be magickal, and incense is protective right? So what he is doing is protective magick, so i am doing protective magick, coolios" and that "message" or feeling then makes you, subconsciously, send out your own energy to protect and cleanse. The incense is just a prop to get you into the right state of mind or mood. So yes you can use just incense but you must also focus. Burning a stick does nothing, burning a stick while focusing intently on the idea of cleansing and protecting an item is, however, a valid "magickal" action, as is sitting there and focusing intently without burning a stick.

The colour of the bag is the same, any colour will do, even a plastic shopping bag, so long as YOU believe it is the right colour and material. Traditionally purple is associated with intuition and psychic awareness, not because purple is special, but because we are taught that magic an d wizards are associated with black and purple so seeing a felt purple bag containing runes puts us in that "right, this is witchcraft" state of mind, which is where we need to be.

Your favorite colour would also be a suitable colour.

Ohhhhhhhh! That makes sense. I was wondering why in the world insence would just make it better (a friend told me it would) because i have burned it before and nothing special happened so i see what you mean hehe. Thank you!
