Spell for Samhain

Hi All,

I wrote this spell for Samhain today. I hope you all like it. I think it is one of the easiest spells I have written in a while.

My body willing
My power weak.
It is vision that I seek.

This spell is cast to give me sight
and see what is hidden in dark of night.

From start of October till the end,
I command the veil to swirl and bend.
Bringing spririts forth then send them back
until this month comes again.

I finish this spell with love and light
thank you spirits for granting me sight on this blessed night.

If anyone has some advice, please let me know. I think this came out good but I am always up for tweaking to make it the best spell I can for the night/ritual.

Awesome, and ingredients? Traditional black candles?
I love the spell but if i were to make a change i would change the first verse to something more empowering like:
my heart ever bright,
as i cast this spell,
to give me the sight,
to see what is hidden in the dark of the night.
.."
also the "until this month comes again" sets an expiration date for the spell over a year from octomber to octomber!
This spell is to bring sight and communication with the spirits when the veil is thinner right?

I have been casting a spell I have written once a week before i go to sleep to help me dream an answer to issues i have .... It is working to a point but Im wondering if this may work better

Hi Witch13,

No special ingredients needed but a fire is always helpful and some sage if you can. If not it is ok. I figure using this as a mantra can help too for Samhain. As far as the first line, I can see your point. I think it came out of what I was feeling physically when I wrote it.

The expiration date is basically there for a reason. My luck I would open myself up to uncontrolable seeing and I did not want to do that. It is used specifically for bringing the sight but tweaking can help too.

I think cypress is related with longevity the ground parts could be trown in the fire for aroma. Also eyebright is related with the sight (the name speaks for its self)
