Re: Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
Either way something or someone had to tip the first domino to start this magical cascade of events from chaos or not that gave birth to life as we know it. Then were did that someone or something come from? this is the argument that ends in stale mate of every single thread involving the creation ...

Re: Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
Be cautious with spells. We become liable for interfering with the affairs of others and we are not wise enough to see into the far distant future to determine what long term effects our spell casting will cause. I'll bear that in mind. I won't be practicing for a while because I don't feel confide...

Re: Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
It would logically follow that in order to produce a living thing, you must start with a living thing. do pardon me, but I must disagree with that :P With the theory of abiogenesis in mind, life came from a "soup" of bits and bobs that where most definitely not alive. I very much subscrib...

Re: Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
That's kind of how I see it. We give names and personas to them to compartmentalize a larger more all encompassing being or force. I like the idea of a force. I said this on a different forum, this is what I have been favouring recently the universe is not Alive as such, but it provides the ability...

Re: Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
I am curious do you believe in anything beyond this world? Well, I believe in the essence and energy of the universe, I believe gods are not omnipotent and all knowing beings but rather attempts by humanity to understand the nature of the universe. they did this by assigning different effects of th...

Spells for an *ahem* Atheist?
Hello! I have been looking into spells, just general spell craft and most of the spells involve [insert correct term here] a god or goddess. Now, I don't actually believe gods and goddesses are real, just my humble opinion, but that does leave lots of spells on online books of shadows etc not very e...

That makes sense @Siona and @Yana
I was just toying with the idea, if words do hold some kind of power. But yes, the idea of words gaining power from the practitioner seems far more logical

What Language do you use for magic?
I can't remember the source, but somewhere on the internet I found a page saying that Modern English is not the best language to use in magickal practice. because it's a mix of so many languages and dialects acquired over the years the words don't hold as much power as, say, Latin or enochian or the...
