Re: Is it disrespectful to think Persephone would help me overcome trauma?
Hello Lio, thank you for sharing your story. Persephone has been a very important goddess to me in my growth, also as a result of trauma that I experienced. She is indeed a very powerful goddess for understanding, healing, and growing from trauma and hardship. Some time ago I wrote a longer post and...

Re: How to escape a Christian mindset
I will say that perhaps one of my most powerful experiences with deity was when I visited an Evangelical Church a few years ago. I was definitely a practicing Pagan (in fact, I was there as part of a Pagan leadership program to experience other religions), and it was really fascinating how they real...

Re: Magical postures
I'm also very interested in the use of the body in magic! When I studied tai chi, there was a lot about how to stand and move in a way where most of your body is relaxed, and your feet are firm and rooted and the top of your body is light. In this way, the qi can circulate freely in your body, which...

Re: Mercury in retrograde help?
Mercury Retrograde isn't so bad (although I do now regularly track it in my planner and plan accordingly). Most of the stuff you can do to protect yourself is mundane -- double check that your email has gone through, expect hiccups when you travel and build in some extra time (no 30-minute layovers ...

Re: How to safely burn paper?
Try Magic Wish Paper. This works great if you are only planning to use small slips of paper. Here's a tutorial on how to make Magic Wish Paper. I just buy the cheapest tea bags I can find and dump out the contents. They burn beautifully (and fly into the air! ) and leave minimal amounts of smoke beh...

Re: Interview
Agreed, I would much prefer for you to conduct the "interviews" on the public forum. At EUTM, we discourage solicitation of private messaging/contact, and ask everyone to practice basic Internet safety. Also, I think you would probably get much more information from an open conversation. Y...

Re: Why do I feel like I should eat my spells?
I just did an Imbolc ritual with my group where everyone used a toothpick to inscribe onto a slice of cheese (since milk/dairy is sacred to Brigid) the qualities they wanted to manifest during the new year, and then we all ate the cheese together. I've also heard of inscribing runes/sigils onto cook...

Very sorry for your loss. I also composed a ritual several years ago for a similar situation -- you can find it here.

Re: Necromancy
Moderator note -- Necromancy is not inherently "dark" magic -- many Pagans engage in ancestor veneration or communicate with the dead. Please do note that some topics are not permitted at EUTM (including, but not limited to, curses and summoning demons); the mod team will remove such conte...

Re: Fire safety
Agreed with LC -- cast iron is safest. I have a little cast iron cauldron that I put on top of a stone tile, just in case. I'd also strongly recommend bringing fire extinguisher or having more than one way to put out a fire in a ritual. I can't tell you the number of times that my coven members have...
