How about some sort of general tranquility blessing/prayer for them instead? In these instances a cool head is probably more effective than getting manipulative, and it will leave that person's choices up to him or her to make.

My knee-jerk reaction is to say that love spells are bad news. Cleansing him of the previous negative energy with his consent sounds okay, but going farther than that seems to be treading into troublesome territory to me.
